Classification Detail

This class includes the production, for the general public, of live theatrical presentations, concerts and opera or dance production, summer theatre and burlesque acts, whether set up for only a single attraction or multiple attractions. This can involve activities of groups or companies, orchestras or bands, but also of individual artists such as actors, musicians, authors, lecturers or speakers, sculptors, painters, cartoonists, engravers, etchers, etc. Related activities included here are, e.g. the operation of scenery and backdrops, lighting and sound equipment, ticket agencies, concert and theatre halls and other facilities and the design of scenery and lighting. Exclusions: Renting of space in theatres, etc., is classified in division 70 (Real estate activities). Agency and casting activities are classified in classes 7499 (Other business activities n.e.c.) and 9249 (Other recreational activities), respectively.
