Classification Detail

This class includes testing and inspection of all types of materials and products. Testing of their composition and purity, e.g. of minerals, food, etc. Qualification and reliability testing, certification of products, failure analysis, materials evaluation, etc. Testing the physical characteristics and performance of products or materials, e.g. for their strength, thickness, durability, electrical conductivity, radioactivity, etc. Also included is the testing of textiles, radiographic testing of welds and joints and performance testing of complete machinery, motors, automobiles, appliances or electronic equipment, whether or not with the use of models or mock-ups of ships, aircraft, dams, etc. Exclusions: Testing and analysis of medical and dental specimens are classified in class 8519 (Other human health activities).
