Overview
The Statistical Business Register Maturity Model (SBR-MM) is a joint production of two Task Teasms of the UNCEBTS: Task Team on Capacity Building and Task Team on Exhaustive Business Registers.
As mandated by the UNSC at its 52nd session (Decision 7, item 3e), in order to provide guidance for statistical business registers to become more inclusive and exhaustive in a rapidly changing economy and to be better tailored to statistical production, the two Tasks Teams worked in close collaboration to develop a draft manual of the SBR-MM in September 2020.
After review by the UNCEBTS, the SBR-MM is presented here as an interactive web page, with links to available training materials.
On the basis of the maturity model, the United Nations Statistics Division will carry out, together with international and regional partners, a regular global assessment of statistical business registers in countries to monitor the implementation of international recommendations on statistical business registers in countries and to identify priority areas for technical assistance.

Visualization of the SBR Maturity Model
Below is a visualization of the SBR Maturity Model, shown in a spiderweb chart. It has seven spokes (radial lines) pointing from the center of origin outwards, with each of them representing a dimension. The concentric rings represent the levels of development, starting from first (preliminary) level at the center of origin, ending at the fourth (advanced) level at the outmost edge.
You can click on th chart to set the level of each dimension interactively.
Based on your selection, you will receive specific recomendations on the training materials with a focus on how to move to the next level in SBR development.
Training Materials
This is an initial list of existing training materials on Statistical Business Registers (SBRs).
The list is prepared based on an initial research on available material and is intended to be complemented with additional information provided by countries and international/regional organizations.
The training materials are organized by the training type as defined in the SBR maturity model. Under each type of training, the training materials are selected to suit the dimension and level that you have selected in the above visualization.
Each training material is provided as a hyperlink, with information on the provider, title and link.
A link will only appear when the applicable dimension and level is selected.
Some links will always be shown, since they have universal applicability (i.e., they provide guidance to SBR development at all levels).]
